Really, Look for the Right Things!

Teaching chemistry can be difficult. You hate to ask the question, “What part did you not understand?” Mostly because you’ll get the answer, “That part starting after, ‘Good morning, class!’” To teach a single concept, you need to teach it several different ways. To cement a concept, you need to teach it in several different times.

In John 1:36, John sees Jesus walking and tells his disciples, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” John had already said the same thing to the religious leaders. John’s own disciples should have already heard the message then. But in John 1:36, John makes a special effort to really communicate to his disciples. Maybe they had heard before, but now, John really wanted them to listen. He was trying to cement the concept.

Today, we hear about Jesus. Sometimes, we hear about Him several times in a single day. Today, I hope you both hear and listen to a message: Jesus is the Lamb of God. He takes away the sins of the world. He takes away our sins if we let Him. Jesus invites all to join Him, even scoffers. Above all, Jesus invites those who believe. He invites you.

We don’t always hear a message on the first, second, or umpteenth time. Will you listen now? Won’t you come and see Him? Sit down over an open Bible and let’s study what this means: Jesus is the Lamb of God.
