In Acts 12:1-7, it is written that Peter was imprisoned, chained to guards, and awaiting a death sentence on the next day. We would expect Peter to be up all night praying for deliverance. Instead, we see Peter was asleep. He slept so soundly that when an angel came to rescue him, the angel had to strike Peter on the side to get him to wake up! How could he do that?
Peter was unconcerned about his physical well-being. He knew that if they killed him, he would go to Heaven. He also knew that if the Lord wanted to, God would get Peter out of the predicament.
